We've introduced a new type of valuation lead called Prospect Plus

This lead is now available to be received via the existing Zoopla API, it will only be sent to customers with a Salesforce contract in place (free or paid for) it will not be sent to any customers on the standard  ‘free trial’.

In order to allow customers to identify and differentiate these leads, we've added a new value to the appraisal portal source field on the existing API (details below).

All of the other values found on current appraisal lead will be populated in the same way e.g. name, intent, urgency etc.

The homeowner message field (already something sent via the API) will have been updated to include a link to ZooplaPro where there is extra information on the homeowner and their search behaviour etc. This information is not getting added to the API yet.

All CRM providers have been given fair warning to update their API request before we roll it out on the 6th of July.

Possible scenarios

  1. API updated correctly (recommended)
    The CRM/ customer will look in the appraisal portal source field for the APPRAISAL_PORTAL_SOURCE_PROSPECTPLUS value. 
    When they find that value they will add some form of tag/ identifier in their CRM to make it clear to the customer that these are the higher value leads.
    Customers will be able to know these are the pay-per-lead leads and also prioritise responding to these leads.
  2. Appraisal portal source field not checked
    Paying customers will still receive these leads to their CRM. 
    There will not be an easy way to differentiate them from a standard Zoopla appraisal lead so they will not be able to easily track which leads are pay-per-lead. 
    The message field will still be edited to include the link to ZooplaPro so customers will still be able to access the extra information on search behaviour etc.
  3. Appraisal portal source checked, not updated for new value (breaking change)
    This is potentially a breaking change. The customer will not receive these leads into their CRM as the customer API will not be able to accept the leads with this new field value. This will likely create an error in the customer’s CRM.
    The customer will still be getting notified of these leads via email with a link to the extra detail.
